Wednesday Session Log
Great to see two digits number of Jiu-Jitsukas at the Wednesday session and welcoming a new trial member.
We started as usual with warm-up, followed by strength and conditioning exercises.
The striking work focused on maintaining a good stance and distance from your opponent.
Our newest white belt worked through backward rolls, while grades worked on advanced breakfalling such as over-the-belt and kick-up-and-drop.
We looked at mune gatame and key control points to hold your partner down: chest to chest position, wide base, angle. Followed by working on escaping and applying it against a resisting opponent.
We then continue this week's theme of leveraging your opponent's momentum.
First with a revision of ko soto gari from both a straight punch and a haymakers. White belt then worked on o soto gari while grades trained harai goshi, o guruma and sasae tsuri komi ashi from tackles and punches.
We finished the session with a 'V'. A great exercise to learn to stay mobile and do throws under pressure.
